About The Method
The Potential-Driven Method™ was inspired by the realization that despite our access to so much great insight and wisdom, our problems are largely the same.
We are coached or trained in what we need to know, and we have access to all the knowledge in the world at our fingertips.
But potential continues to be wasted. Hard-working people who are full of abilities struggle to deal with life's many challenges and distractions. Some go off course at great cost to others or themselves.
Something has been missing.
Our human problem is we fail to apply the wisdom available to us, and to live by what we claim is most important to us.
This problem cannot be solved with clever quotes. It cannot be solved by simply telling people what not to do.
We cannot achieve a breakthrough with more of the same.
We need a new kind of solution. We need a simple way to help others and ourselves with what goes on in our own minds and hearts—where the disconnects and breakdowns occur—so we can better live in the ways that are possible for us.
The Method is about The Fewest Points of Focus - "The 4 & The 7"
Personal Level - The 4 Inner Fundamentals, whether we are aware of them or not, dramatically influence a long list of things, including our direction in life and our levels of both achievement and fulfillment.
Leader & Coach Role - The 7 Determinants of Effectiveness: Connection, Trust, Influence, Motivation, Recognition, Accountability, and Culture, as well as how all 7 work together, determine how impactful we are in our role of coaching and leading others. The same frameworks can be applied to parenting.
The Analogy
Potential Driven is about what I call "Inner Form." Learning to improve Inner Form is analogous to learning proper shooting form as a basketball player. Shooting mechanics free the potential within the player, which increases a player's ability to coach themselves after understanding the finer teachings on mechanics.
Poor mechanics limit potential. Slight adjustments improve a player's ability to score and bring out the true potential of the player.
We need the same kind of solution for managing ourselves in our own minds and for coaching others, but no one had ever broken down the complexity of our inner lives and interpersonal strengths into the deeper fundamentals and mechanics that would allow us to do so.
So that is what I spent the last five years doing. Potential Driven is about the inner and interpersonal fundamentals and mechanics that help us replace what is counterproductive with what helps us experience more of what is possible.
What Makes the Method Effective?
This is a different approach than the common one of providing good advice and a brief boost of inspiration.
Providing helpful advice in a clever acronym takes about one or two days to put together. This was a 5-year project based on 30 years of study and experience, for the purpose of developing the most effective method possible for the persistent problem of wasting potential and our lack of growth in human growth and development.
Distilled from the Best of Both Modern Science and Timeless Wisdom
The Potential-Driven Method™ was developed by finding alignment between insights from a broad range of sources, from psychology and other disciplines of modern science to principles of spiritual growth and wisdom from throughout human history.
For example, I especially appreciate the work of great minds such as Dr. Dan Siegel’s Interpersonal Neurobiology, Dr. Max Bazerman and Dr. Ann Tenbrunsel on Behavioral Ethics and Behavioral Economics, Dr. Albert Bandura’s work on Moral Disengagement and Self-Efficacy, Dr. David R. Hawkins’s writings as a psychiatrist and spiritual teacher, the teachings of Jesus and Saint Paul, Christian theology, Meister Eckhart and other Christian mystics, Nisargadatta Maharaj, Rumi, the philosopher Plotinus, Thich Nhat Hanh on The Eightfold Path, Dr. Henry Stapp’s writing on quantum mechanics, Dr. William Glasser’s work of Choice Theory and his concepts of intrinsic motivation, relationships, and Reality Therapy, Robert Fritz on creating positive change and why common approaches fail, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi’s work on Flow, motivation, and experience, Dr. Willem Lammers and Logosynthesis, Dr. Antonio Damasio, Dr. David Eagleman, and concepts from Counseling schools of thought by Carl Rogers, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and ACT Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Built to Make the Complex Simple and Practical
Many of the greatest insights that could change lives are never used because they are too complicated or are in a form that is not practical.
My work is about finding whatever can help us accelerate growth and avoid costly errors, then combine and distill it to form the simplest format possible.
The Philosophy: The Sport of Living & We Are Always in The Game
I believe life is much more like a sport than it is like a school. The "school of life" metaphor propagates the norm of the endless flow of information and overload, leading to a continued lack of learning and development. It also leads to mediocrity and lack of fulfillment.
The sport metaphor for life guides us to break everything down into its simplest and most effective set of principles and actions.
We are not in the school of life. We are in the sport of living. Our only good option is to get better at it.
Breaking down inner strengths and interpersonal strengths into fundamentals and mechanics in the form of frameworks is the breakthrough that allows us to bring out more of what is possible within others and ourselves.

About Aaron Boe
Brief Bio
Hi, this is Aaron. I developed this method over a period of five years while drawing on 30 years of study and life experience.
My work is about providing something new and different because the world already has plenty of inspiration, insight and wisdom available to us. Our challenge is that we struggle to apply it and live by it. This work is about helping us with that one major gap.
Much of my previous work has been in developing training programs and workshops, while also being an author and speaker. Some of my work has won awards, but all of it has been leading to working on the problem of the missing piece in our growth and development.
Indiana University is where I completed my undergraduate and graduate work. I loved my experience there, especially as an undergrad. I had some excellent professors who taught me how to read and think more deeply.
Beyond time with family and professional work, personal interests have ranged from performing standup comedy to writing lyrics as an amateur songwriter.
Now at age 52, I am a dad of five children and have been married to my great wife for nearly 20 years.
If you have questions or want to discuss how I could be of help to you and those you coach or serve, just send us an email.
